Do affirmations work? My personal experience has shown to me that it absolutely does. But you have to do more than just mindlessly repeat your statements like a parrot. In order for affirmations to work, you have to pick the right statements that 'agree' with you, do them often enough with the proper emotion and visualization, and express sincere gratitude that they've already been accomplished. The whole purpose of doing affirmations is to replace the old counterproductive beliefs that have been 'hardwired' through your neural connections over the years. Most likely these old patterns of thinking were themselves imprinted by repetition and/or strong emotional response. The more strongly entrenched these old habits are, the more work you have to do. But it's absolutely doable.
